Pediatric ENT – Head & Neck Masses

In children, head and neck masses are most often benign; however, these lumps may come from a range of underlying causes, including lymph nodes, cysts, or cancerous growths.
Benign head and neck masses in children often represent inflamed or infected lymph nodes and fluid-filled cysts. Depending on the type and location of mass, it may resolve on its own, or with antibiotics, while others may require surgical removal.

Head and Neck Mass Treatment at Northwest ENT and Allergy Center

Patients who experience head and neck masses should contact an ENT physician. After an initial head and neck examination, a pediatric physician will be able to determine if further treatment or tests, such as a CT scan or ultrasound, are needed.
To learn more about the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric head and neck masses, please call Northwest ENT and Allergy Center at (770) 427-0368 to schedule an appointment with one of our physicians today.
