Drew M. Locandro, M.D.

    Dr Drew M. Locandro Photo
    Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Drew M. Locandro received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University. He attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey, where he specialized in otolaryngology and completed his residency at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. Dr. Locandro has extensive experience with common ENT procedures and special expertise with nasal/sinus surgery, cosmetic nasal surgery, and advanced ear surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Shatul L. Parikh, M.D.

    Dr. Shatul Parikh Photo
    Dr. Shatul Parikh, a native Atlantan, received his undergraduate degree from Emory University, and completed his medical studies at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Parikh returned to Emory University to complete his residency in Otolaryngology. Dr. Parikh is a nationally recognized expert in minimally invasive thyroid/parathyroid surgery. Currently an instructor for the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Parikh teaches other surgeons advanced techniques in thyroid/parathyroid surgery. He is also experienced in all routine ENT procedures. Dr. Parikh is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is also the medical director of Northwest ENT Surgery Center.

Ryan M. Kauffman, M.D.

    Dr. Kauffman specializes in allergy, nasal surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, chronic ear surgery, and pediatric otolaryngology. He was born and raised in Carrollton, Georgia, received his undergraduate degree from the University of West Georgia, attended medical school at Vanderbilt University, and completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Avani P. Ingley, M.D.

    Dr. Avani Ingley grew up in Vidalia, Georgia, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. She completed her medical studies and residency in Otolaryngology at Emory University in Atlanta. Additionally, she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, one of the nation’s most prestigious medical honor societies. Dr. Ingley has experience in all routine ENT procedures with special interest in pediatric otolaryngology and nasal/sinus surgery. She is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Mark B. Van Deusen M.D.

    Dr Mark Van Deusen Photo
    Dr. Mark Van Deusen grew in upstate NY. He graduated from Binghamton University summa cum laude and attended medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He went on to graduate with honors before heading south to pursue his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Dr. Van Deusen is trained in all aspects of Otolaryngology, and his passion for practicing is evident in his many interests. He enjoys treating patients with sinus disease, nasal obstruction, and allergies. When medical management fails, Dr. Van Deusen is skilled in endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty, and rhinoplasty techniques. During his training, Dr. Van Deusen performed endoscopic trans-sphenoidal pituitary surgery as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Vanderbilt Skull Base Center. He will be providing this service at Piedmont Hospital in conjunction with neurosurgery. His scope of practice also includes caring for patients with ear disease and hearing loss. He is extensively trained in ear surgery and offers cochlear implantation for children and adults with significant sensorineural hearing loss. Dr. Van Deusen enjoys treating children and has received specialized training in pediatric Otolaryngology at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Lastly, he is trained in head and neck surgical oncology and works with radiation and medical oncologists to treat cancer patients. Dr. Van Deusen makes every effort to accommodate his patients and their busy schedules. In most cases, he is able to take same day appointments. Dr. Van Deusen met his wife, Liz, in medical school. They recently welcomed their first child, Brady, into the world! When not working, he enjoys running, playing golf, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Marcelo Antunes, M.D.

    Originally from Brazil, Dr. Marcelo Antunes completed his residency in Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. In addition, he completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, as well as ear surgery training in Switzerland. Dr. Antunes is well trained in all aspects of Otolaryngology ¬ Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition to performing cosmetic and reconstructive surgery on the face, he enjoys treating patients with a variety of problems such as nasal obstruction, sinus, allergy and ear conditions. He has extensive training in rhinoplasty, facelift, eyelid, reconstructive, sinus and ear procedures. During his residency, he trained and performed highly complicated procedures with the pioneer in sinus surgery in the United States. He is also well-versed in chronic ear infection and cochlear implant surgeries. Dr Antunes is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Claudette L. Conway Lewis, NP

    Claudette Conway Lewis was raised in Ridgeland, MS. She attended Auburn University graduating summa cum laude with a degree in nursing. She then went on to work as a perioperative nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She received her Master’s degree in nursing at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. Claudette is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

    Jeffrey A. D’Ambrosio, PA-C earned his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from Philadelphia University. After graduating with honors, he joined the university’s Physician Assistant Program and later received his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies, graduating in the top fifth percentile of his class. Jeff has over 11 years of experience in the field of Otolaryngology. He is also Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is licensed by the state of Georgia by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Jeff makes it a priority to translate the most advanced medical information to understandable terms for his patients. It is his goal to address all questions and concerns before a patient leaves the office, ensuring they’ve received the best care possible.

Geralyn Drumheller, Au.D.

    Audiologist Geralyn Drumheller Photo
    Dr. Geralyn Drumheller, Director of Audiology, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. She was awarded her Master of Education degree in Audiology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and her doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Drumheller began her audiology career at the Lahey Clinic, outside of Boston, and became the Director of Audiology in 1987. She was appointed to the Board of Registration for Speech Pathology and Audiology for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and served as Chairperson. She expanded her hearing aid dispensing services by joining American Hearing Centers as Senior Audiologist in the greater Boston area, and continued with her relocation to the Atlanta area joining Atlanta Ear, Nose and Throat Associates. More recently, she was employed by a world leader in hearing aid manufacturing as Supervisor of Audiology and Customer Care here in Georgia. Dr. Drumheller is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and Past-President of the Georgia Academy of Audiology.

Cindy Weiss, M.S.

    Ms. Cindy Weiss received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from State University of Cortland in Cortland, NY and her Masters in Audiology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Ms. Weiss has experience working in a hospital, private practice and ENT setting in New York and Georgia. She has worked with both pediatric and the geriatric population in her years of service. Ms. Weiss is passionate in providing superior hearing healthcare services and products to her patients and their families. She currently is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Georgia Academy of Audiology.

    Dr. Sarah Dryanski obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. She attended the University of Pittsburgh and was awarded her Doctorate of Audiology. Sarah has experience working in both a hospital and private practice setting and she is passionate about providing quality hearing healthcare for both children and adults. Her interests include balance testing, along with hearing aid dispensing, and rehabilitation. She has her clinical certificate of competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).

    Dr. Sean Barak was raised in Grand Rapids, MI. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and his Doctor of Audiology degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Dr. Barak began his audiology career at the Michigan Ear Institute, one of the nation’s leading surgical groups specializing in hearing, dizziness, inner ear, skull base, and facial nerve disorders. In 2009, Dr. Barak relocated to Georgia and has been practicing audiology in the metro Atlanta area. His special interests include vestibular diagnostics and hearing aid dispensing. Dr. Barak is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and holds his Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

    Dr. Wendy B. Cates is a Dallas, GA native. She has an undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders from Tennessee State University and her Doctor of Audiology degree from East Tennessee State University. Dr. Cates has worked in hospitals and private practices, and her special interests include diagnostics and hearing aids. Her philosophy is to find the best solution for the individual hearing needs of her patient. She wants everyone she works with to have their hearing and listening needs met. Dr. Cates has her Clinical Certificate of Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a member of the Academy if Doctors of Audiology.

Syrita Thompson - Business Office Manager

    Syrita came to Northwest ENT with 14 years of billing experience. Syrita has extensive experience in all aspects of the insurance billing process. Prior to joining Northwest ENT and Allergy Center, Syrita was the business office manager for Radiology Services at OMI Diagnostics, Denial Manager and Supervisor for Medical Management Professionals. At Northwest ENT, Syrita supervises the billing department and assists patients with their health insurance plans. Syrita has the extensive knowledge and expertise to work through the challenges of insurance denials in order to make it easier on patients and their families. She loves the teamwork environment and has the ability to recognize skills in other staff members. In her spare time, she loves to craft and travel.

    Vanessa Rosales is a certified medical assistant with 18 years of experience and has worked specifically with allergy patients for over a decade. She is an active member of The American Academy of Otolaryngology (AAOA is an Association for Board-certified otolaryngologists and health care providers. AAOA members devote part of their practice to the diagnosis and treatment of allergic disease).

    Vanessa strives to make patients feel comfortable and educated while they undergo allergy testing and treatment. She truly enjoys working with patients and always works to provide exceptional - compassionate patient care.

    Outside of work, Vanessa loves spending time with her family and watching sports.

    Valerie D. Gamel, CMA (AAMA) is a Certified Medical Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants. She began her Medical Assistant career here at Northwest ENT back in 2008 after graduating from the Medical Assistant program at Medix School in Smyrna, GA. Over the years she has worked her way from Medical Assistant, to supervisor, and is now the Medical Assistant Manager. In this role, Valerie coordinates with all physicians and medical assistants to provide excellent patient care. Valerie is an active member of the Paulding County Chapter of Medical Assistants and regularly attends the Annual Georgia State Society of Medical Assistants meeting. In my personal time I like to spend time with my family, read and volunteer with several animal rescues throughout the area.

Adriana Clark – Front Office Manager

    Adriana received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida and is an active member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the oldest and largest collegiate honor society dedicated to the recognition and promotion of academic excellence in all disciplines. Prior to graduation, she completed an internship at the University of Florida's Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. She also had the privilege of shadowing the department's physical therapists.

    Additionally, Adriana has experience working as both a front office associate and medical assistant in different specialties. Her combined education and background in healthcare brings a high level of customer service, problem solving skills and commitment to assisting patients and staff.

    In her spare time, she can be found with friends and family or cheering on the Florida Gators.

    Amanda Ratterree received her Associate’s degree of Applied Science in Medical Assisting from Lincoln Technical Institute. In a span of eight years, she has served as a front office associate, medical assistant, and surgery coordinator within the ENT field. This vast experience has prepared Amanda for her daily correspondence with Northwest ENT’s patients and their insurance companies – something she finds enjoyment in every day.

    Amanda truly loves getting to know the patients she assists and takes great pride in being a part of the overall process to help them feel better. Outside of work, she loves a good book and spending time with friends and family.

    Originally from New Hampshire, Lisa Voyles received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina. She completed her nursing degree at Marymount University. Ms. Voyles has extensive experience in ambulatory surgery centers.
